untitledWe are proud to announce that Hallie Springer is our next crafter to be featured in the “Crafter Spotlight”. Hallie has always had a passion for arts & Crafts. She followed in her Grandmother and Great Aunts footsteps by sharing her love of making handmade things.

My Story: I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. I married the love of my life, Chuck Springer, Dec 2, 1989. I also am the mother of six children, three boys and three girls, two daughters-in-law, and my dog, Rylie, who is one and a half years old. My kids are Conner (24), who married Sierra (21), Cameron (22), who married Amber (23), Corbin (18), Dawn (15), Ashley (14) and Caylee (13).DSC_9501

I grew up loving arts and crafts, and taking every class I could through high school. I was the kind of girl who was always doodling on anything I could get my hands on. My passion to create began young. I followed the example of my grandmother, Mina Louise Steinshouer, and my Great Aunt Mildred Aday. They both showed me the joy in creating and sharing my creations.

I moved from Northern Colorado, to Northern Texas about 4 years ago. This is where I met my best friend, neighbor and Business Partner, Olivia McClean. As we got to know each other, we soon discovered that we have many things in common: God, Family and Crafting.

One crisp autumn day about three years ago, Olivia and I sat in her garage crafting and having a blast, when we realized we should make this our business. I mean, why shouldn’t we do something we love and earn money from it?

elfwreathThe next spring, we were at a Bible study together and a mutual friend shared that she had an exciting business venture in the near future. Talking with her later, she shared with us she was in the process of purchasing a small Boutique in a nearby small town. This was our opportunity and our chance to finally start our business. This is what we could call an “Only God“ moment. After much strategizing, in June of 2014, Home Décor and More opened its doors. Like any business owner, we have had many bumps and bruises while learning and growing as a company. What a wild ride, the last 2 years have been!

We make wreaths, signs and more. We also teach Craft classes at our homes, host house parties, teach at a local community college, and go to schools to teach class holiday celebrations, along with custom orders.
