Happy Mother’s Day!
May is such a special time of year! It’s the month we honor our Mothers! This week, I want to share with you a couple recipes that are special in my family because they are delicious and because they come from two very special women in our lives! Nana’s Chocolate Cake
- 3 sticks butter, softened
- 3 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups plain flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 cup milk
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Carefully grease and flour a bunt pan. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar together. Once fully mixed, add the eggs one at a time and beat well. In a separate bowl, sift dry ingredients together. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk to the butter and sugar mixture. Once fully mixed, add the vanilla. Pour into your bunt pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
My family requests these two cakes at almost every family gathering! They are classics!
