Wreath Making Craft Easel (Floor or Table)

Can you believe that I used to make wreaths lying flat on my counter? Well… I certainly did! And I made my wreaths and sprays this way for many years before I came up with an awesome idea!!

I was working in my storefront business in downtown Anderson one day and was becoming more and more fed up with the way I was having to design my wreaths. I really didn’t want to make as many as I was having to; but customers just kept ordering more and more of my unique, one-of-a-kind wreaths to hang on their doors and walls. Not only was it hard to see what I was doing and where exactly each stem should go; but my neck and my shoulders were beginning to hurt me more and more each day.

My eclectic shop held much, much more than florals. We carried high-end pottery, china, lamps and beautiful paintings as well as cute distressed outdoor cottage furniture. I had purchased a very nice mahogany easel to show off some of our larger paintings… and we moved it around so much that one day the back leg just broke off. It could have been fixed, but I came up with a much better idea!

I’d been working on a really large wreath that day and desperately needed another way to add stems. A little later one of my employees walked by and was shocked to see that I had moved all my supplies as well as the wreath off my long counter and was nailing a huge nail into the top of the easel which had filled up my counter space. She was shocked, to say the least! lol, That was a very expensive easel and there I was ruining it.

But… NO, I didn’t ruin it!! That’s where I began brainstorming about how to design an easel with a back leg also — one that was fully adjustable and would turn my wreath-making into such a joy!

In these photos, you can see the easel that I designed over 25 years ago! We have a friend who is disabled from a wreck who can still work some in his wood-working shop. I’m still using my very first one! Can you believe it??

Since then, Luke has made hundreds of easels as student after student realized they just had to have one while watching me in my videos on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/LadybugWreaths), as they learned how to design natural, wild & woodsy wreaths.

And, due to many requests from my Nancy’s Inner Circle (www.NancysInnerCircle) members, we now have a table model for the designers who just cannot stand up long enough to make their wreaths.

As a matter of fact, everything about this easel is fully adjustable! Look at the drilled holes in the brace. There is a pin and wing nut so you can adjust the angle or tilt quickly and easily.

My Patented easels are sturdy! I’ve never had one to fall over or break. They are made of Sweedish White Wood and will last for many years!
